A mysterious island ruin is finally giving up its secrets

A settlement 30 miles from the Mongolian border in what is today southern Russia has eluded understanding. Known as Por-Bajin, the mysterious complex is roughly the size of Buckingham Palace. Now, researchers may finally know what the site was used for thanks to the fickle fluctuations of solar radiation, the evidence of which was buried in the wood that built the place.
